Close by are a series of emerald green swamps, attracting huge numbers of wallowing elephants, hippos, buffalos, and plains game. The sunset over Kilimanjaro from the prehistoric site of Observation Hill is truly magnificent.
Reflecting the brilliant primary colors and iconic shapes of the legendary Maasai warriors, the lodge’s décor is at the center of ‘Maasailand’. The central dining area, reached by a timbered bridge over a melt-water stream, features a broad terrace and a blazing fire-pit for evening cocktails. Activities include daily game drives, ‘sundowners’ on Observation Hill, bush breakfasts, bush dinners, Masai dance performances, visits to Masai villages, and tree-planting programs.

Following an early breakfast, depart for Tsavo West, arriving at your lodge for lunch. A zig-zagging road through scrub thorn and acacia leads you into Tsavo National Park, which together (East and West) form the largest of Kenya’s parks. Following lunch, depart on an afternoon game drive, including a visit to Mzima Springs with its underwater viewing holes. Return to the lodge as the sun sets.
